Our 2023 Litter is sold out! Next litter of Red Fox Labrador puppies expected fall 2024.

Week Six Pupdate

February 3rd, 2024

It’s puppy portrait week!  For every litter, we try to capture some close-up portraits of the pups in front of our fireplace.  It was a snowy, cold day here in Denver and it seemed like the perfect time for pictures by a warm fire.  Red loved the fire, as you can see in the picture she was SUPER relaxed and snuggly warm.

Puppy picks were completed last week and it went very smooth, thank you!  After knowing these pups for the last six weeks and getting to know all of you, I believe all the right pups went to the right families given what you were looking for.  Thank you again for your cooperation in the process.

Everyone is doing great and weights continue to increase.  Dark Purple is 11.8lbs and still the beast of the group.  Light Blue and Brown are the lightest and tied at 8.2lbs each…..both are females and it’s very normal for the girls to gain weight a little slower and be more on the “petite” side.  Everyone else is between 9-10lbs, exactly where we should be for week 6.

Potty training is going much better this week than last…it was a rough start last week but most, if not all, are using the litter box now and actually whine to get in it if we have them out of their pen playing.  We continue to decrease the amount of water in their food….we wanted to get them on completely dry food this week but we’re not quite there yet……almost.  We are no longer grinding the food so they have learned to chew it…they still prefer it a bit soft.

You wouldn’t know it today, but we had a three, 60 degree days this week.   Lots of outside play time and we have introduced them to some obstacles in their pen.  There is an elevated bed in their pen now which teaches them to climb on and off things (think stairs) and we got them a tunnel to run through.  Check out the video, they LOVED the tunnel.

Other good news is they are sleeping through the night.  We put them to bed around 10pm and we don’t hear from them until 7-7:30am in the morning.  We have them in a very good routine with their days / nights and sleep cycles.  Lastly, everyone got their week 6 round of Pyrantel, the anti-parasite and deworming medication.  No signs of worms or parasites, it’s just a preventative measure.

Other than that, things are going great!  If you gave us a name, we’re calling your pup by name now.  Enjoy the video and photos from this week!
