Week 6 Pupdate: Little Hunters, Water Dogs and Picture Week!

It’s hard to believe Week 6 has already come and gone! The puppies are growing like crazy, getting more adventurous by the day, and keeping us plenty busy. This week brought some fun new experiences, a few laughs, and one of our favorite traditions: puppy pictures!

Exploring the Great Outdoors

This week, the puppies got their first opportunity to explore beyond the fenced yard. We currently live on two acres with plenty of tall grass and room to roam, and they absolutely loved their newfound freedom.

They also had their first encounters with some of our local wildlife. Birds and rabbits quickly caught their attention, although they’re still a little too fast for the puppies to keep up with. The frogs, on the other hand, aren’t quite so lucky! We have tons of them around the yard, and apparently they’re just slow enough to make an interesting target.

What’s been especially fun to watch is how those natural hunting instincts are starting to kick in. A few of the boys have already figured out how to stalk something that catches their attention. Watching them crouch down and carefully approach their target is pretty entertaining, especially when that target is just a frog minding its own business!

We’ve Definitely Got Water Dogs!

Remember when we first introduced the puppies to the pool? Well, they’ve become a little too comfortable with it!

All of them can now climb in and out on their own, and they’ve decided that every trip outside should include a swim. Unfortunately, that means every trip back inside involves a bunch of soaking wet puppies.

We finally gave in, drained the pool, and moved it out of the way for now. There’s no question these little Labradors love the water!

Potty Training Is Going Great!

One of our biggest accomplishments this week has been potty training, and we couldn’t be happier with their progress.

We made it through the entire week without a single poop accident! We also had only three or four pee accidents, which is pretty impressive for six-week-old puppies.

Even better, they’re starting to let us know when they need to go outside. That’s a huge step forward and makes life a whole lot easier for everyone, especially us!

It’s Picture Week!

One of our favorite things to do during the final couple of weeks is take some nice pictures of each puppy. They’re at such a fun age right now, and we love capturing them as they explore and discover the world around them.

This week’s pictures were taken on Monday, October 5, right at the end of Week 6. We took advantage of the tall grass around our property, and the puppies gave us some great shots.

It’s amazing how much they’ve changed in just six weeks. They’re no longer those tiny little puppies that spent their days sleeping and nursing. Now they’re curious, adventurous little Labradors with personalities all their own.

Enjoy the pictures above, you can click on each photo for a larger version. We think you’ll agree they’re growing up way too fast!
